Did you know?

Our sunny island home that is Singapore is only 719.1 square kilometers in size. Yet, you will find more than a million apartments and landed houses here! Amazing isn’t it? We love our home!

In celebration of 51 years of Singaporean progressive homestyling, we threw an awesome party and we were happily joined by design professionals all keen on learning more about the latest bathroom, kitchen and furniture trends and products Ferrara had to offer.

We kick started the afternoon with the introduction and launch of our new Ferrara van design! Designed in collaboration with Crestial, a sports car was superimposed on the van to create a fun visual trick. Why a racing car? Because we believe that stuff in the bathroom doesn’t have to be boring. When we talk about sports car, we think of style and handling. Well the same can be said for bathroom faucets. Hence “sleek design, impeccable handling, Crestial faucets for top notch performance”.

Following that everyone had fun visiting all the stations. The activities were designed to create an interactive experience to learn about each brand. With freshly made french crepes and a free flow of drinks, it was certainly an engaging time.

Finally came the highlight of the event – the Lucky draw! We invited all participants to join in a simple game. We hid 3 Ferrara Stickers behind specially designed posters all around the showroom. The first 3 persons who found the stickers would win the top prizes of Scoot Vouchers!

All in, it was a fantastic event and we really thank all our supporters who attended. We look forward to the next fun party!

On 31st March 2016, Ferrara had our first ever Bathroom-Kitchen-Furniture FER-stival!

Festivals evoke a mood of celebration where we have fun and games, enjoy food and drink in the company of good friends and of people. And that’s exactly what went down that day.

After a heartfelt, warm welcome address from Managing Director Ms. Jenny Tay, the hour and a half long activity segment kickstarted with a bang! With 6 stations spread around the showroom, everyone was spoiled for choice.

The activities were designed to be engaging and challenging and where possible to provide information in an interactive manner. Creative use of memory games, guessing games stimulated the mind while other games tested motor skills precision. Within seconds the entire showroom was lively and busy.

We also had manufacturer representatives join us all the way from Europe who gave on-the-spot introduction to products, participated in in-depth discussions on design trends and insights on installation methods. There was even a software demonstration on the power of augmented reality!

And how time flies when we’re having fun! Before we knew it it was time for for the Lucky Draw and 16 lucky winners walked away with attractive prizes ranging from bathroom accessories to crystal ornaments with the top prizes being airline vouchers!

It was a beautiful few hours spent with our industry partners and we look forward to hosting it again soon!

Ferrara was invited to be featured in a special bathroom edition in the My Paper – My Home supplement published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).

Published on 18th March 2016, the interview with Ms. Jenny Tay, Managing Director of Ferrara, explains that Ferrara’s differentiation from the competition comes from seeking to “deliver customised service” to customers.

“Customer service and satisfaction is paramount. Having quality products designed fashionably and sensibly is not the only aspect of the business. It is important to understand our customers’ needs and concerns” says Ms. Tay.

As quoted, “discussions in a service-oriented company revolve around the customers’ daily habits and preferences” while “product-oriented companies emphasise price and product features”.

Staff are trained to think as if they were the customer to achieve a greater understanding of their needs. A simple example would be to recommend semi-recessed or wall mounted basins which are wider for customers who have young children. They are easier to access for the little ones and also “prevent water splashing on the floor to reduce risk”.

“Such considerations are often over-looked when home owners are overloaded with details during the renovation period”. A helping hand herein is always useful and Ferrara aims to be that helping hand.

As of 1st July 2009, the Public Utilities Board Mandatory Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (MWELS) kicked into force. All basin taps and mixers, shower taps and mixers, handshowers and toilet flushing cisterns must comply with the scheme. Each product must be tested for it's water efficiency and will be rated according to test results. This movement is a bid to aid in water conversation efforts. It is also a part of the BCA Greenmark scheme.

She believes that every bathroom should have co-ordinated shapes and forms. “Create your own style by playing with materials and combining different elements” says Ms. Tay, “you don’t have to spend a lot of money on your bathroom if you know how to dress it up.”
